Dr. Saunders is the father of Lisa Saunders, Shawn's steady girlfriend in the first season of The Wayans Bros. He appears in the episode titled "ER" in season 1.. Dr. Saunders is played by actor Richard Roundtree, who is best known for his portrayal of private detective John Shaft in the 1971 film Shaft and in its two sequels, Shaft's Big Score (1972) and Shaft in Africa (1973).
